Malgaigne's bulges are elongated bulges that are especially noticeable in the flank region when straining. They are oval, longitudinal, and bilateral, and are parallel to the medial half of the inguinal ligament. Malgaigne's bulges are common in men with poor abdominal musculature. They can be confused with inguinal hernias, but people with Malgaigne's bulges are more likely to develop direct inguinal hernias.
This entity may be confused with inguinal hernia.
No treatment is required except core abdominal muscles strengthing to prevent future hernia.
