Of course Not, No matter what your reasons are, don’t drop a year or more to prepare for CAT.

►►Preparing for CAT is a test of temperament. In this marathon(CAT preparation) your energy level may go up and down. Especially while taking mocks, your Scores and percentile won’t always be in a flat line. Many a time, scores may become volatile and the pressure might start creeping up. Having a job will help in diverting your mind and make sure that the pressure you have is lesser.

►►Benefits of Preparing for CAT while in Job:
1) Clearing Cutoff will be slightly lesser, Most of the IIM’s give extra points for work experience.
2) You can steer the final Interview: A person with work experience will have a wide range of topics to speak about and have a chance to showcase their leadership and team management skills whereas a person without work experience may not have a lot to talk about apart from past acads.
