President Park Geun-Hye has suggested that it is possible for the two Koreas to ease the ongoing tension by jointly managing shared rivers across the inter-Korean border.
Park made the remarks at the 7th World Water Forum (WWF) which kicked off on Sunday for a six-day run in South Korea's southeastern city of Daegu.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Daegu forum, Park said the WWF will help promote global peace by providing creative solutions to water-related conflicts.
Held every three years since its inception in 1997, the WWF is considered one of the largest international events. Around 35,000 people 170 countries, who include heads of state, business people and environmental activists, are invited to participate in this year's forum.
