On my latest trip to Uzbekistan, I learned how to make Uzbek Plov, the comfort food of Central Asia. The dish goes by many names: Rice Pilaf, Palov, Osh... Only simple ingredients - but technique matters a lot! Let's make some Rice Pilaf on the stove from scratch.

Uzbek Plov Recipe 🍚
500g beef or lamb
500g short grain rice, well rinsed
1 large onion
2 large carrots
1 large bulb of garlic
1 Tbsp ground cumin
1 Tbsp ground coriander
1/2 Tbsp paprika
1/2 Tbsp whole cumin
1,5 Tbsp salt (or to taste)
black pepper to taste
I used around 700ml water for the Plov.
