Cape Town is one of the most visited places in South Africa. But if you're willing to explore you can find some unique experiences just outside the city. Khayelitsha is a Township, which was created as a place for black city workers to live near the capital.
While it used to be a key part of segregation it has now flourished in a hub for cultural and culinary adventures. Join Dean as he meets up with local Ayanda Cuba and explores the best of Khayelitsha. We start off with some unexpected green smoothies at Spinach King to load up with some nutrition.
Next, we get cultural and explore the 18 Gangster Museum to learn more about the gangster culture of Townships. We reload with some unique coffee blends in a small garage at Siki's Koffee Kafe. Finally, we visit 4Roomed Foods a homey South African restaurant by MasterChef finalist Abigail Mbalo.
We feast on local South African dishes like Isonka Samanzi and Umngqusho before we all wash it down with yet another spinach smoothie. So join us as we explore a side of South Africa you've probably never heard of but will definitely want to visit!
