The president's senior secretary for politics paid another visit to the National Assembly to further explain the president's view on the role of the new prime minister.
The presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said it will guarantee the new prime minister has practical power and authority over state affairs -- including the ability to set up his or her own Cabinet -- and said the president will immediately appoint the nominee proposed by the political parties.
The Tuesday visit follows a visit by President Park on Monday, when she asked the parliament to recommend a prime minister nominee of its choice.
The top office is currently trying to arrange a meeting between the president and political party leaders at an earliest date possible,... so they can discuss the details of the new prime minister's responsibilities,... but opposition parties have yet to agree to the meeting.
