Championing economic globalization, Xi stressed the importance of pursuing new models of global growth, cooperation, governance and development. He said that China's "Belt and Road" initiative, for example, delivers benefits well beyond its borders. More than one hundred countries and international organizations support the initiative, while over 40 nations have signed cooperation agreements with China. Through these, Chinese companies made over $50 billion worth of investment and launched major projects in the countries along the routes, spurring development in these countries and creating many local jobs.
