In this video you will learn how to find all the angles in an isosceles triangle when all then angles are given in terms of x. To do this you will need to make an equation by making the two angles which are the same equal to each other. Solve the equation to find x. Once x is found you can substitute this back into the expressions to find the angles and use the fact angles in a triangle add up to 180.
So in the example the two angles which are given in the isosceles triangle are 7x - 1 and 62 - 2x. Since these angles are the same you can say 7x-1 = 62 - 2x. Solving this will give 9x = 63 so x = 7. Now if you substitute this back into one of these expressions you get 48 degrees. Now work out the other angle at the top by doing 180 - 48 - 48 which gives 84 degrees.
