Lt. General (R) Ziauddin was the man Nawaz Sharif nominated to become army chief after Nawaz fired General Pervez Musharraf on October 12, 1999. Of-course Nawaz failed to have his way. But on October 12, 2019 - the 20th anniversary of the Musharraf coup, Ziauddin gave quite an interesting perspective. He still feels that that Pakistan military has a role in Pakistan's administration. Nawaz would not be happy to hear this.
