In this video we tackle OTW Bandit Level 1-2. We are told that the password we need is in a file with "-" as the file name. If you try to open or read this file you probably found out that you need to do a little extra work tocat get that done.
To understand why - as a file name is so tricky you need to realize that a - in linux usually refers to stdin (as you type in into the command line, that input is called stdin (or dev/stdin).
For this reason, when you type 'cat -' linux thinks you are saying run the cat command on stdin.
To get around this, you need to specify either an absolute path or a relative path. This tells linux that when you run the 'cat' command you want it to open the file found at the end of the path you specified.
