With back to back wins at home secured, Gary Rowett's side were on the road for his first away game as U's gaffer, and it was at a place he knew well. Millwall themselves were under new management with Alex Neil having been appointed at the start of the week. Rowett named an unchanged team for the third game in a row, and the first half was very techy. The hosts had the better of the chances and probably should've had a penalty after Will Vaulks brought down Esse in the box. The Ox's did have their share of chances with Harris unable to convert a low cross from Placheta, and Rodrigues with a few decent opportunities. The visitors came flying out the traps for the second half and would take the lead, another brilliant cross from on-form Shemmy Placheta finding Ruben Rodrigues to nod home, sending the away end mad. Un-surprisingly, Millwall kicked into gear after the goal as they looked for a leveller, piling on the pressure. They were unable to create much of note, though could've had another penalty after Ter Avest brought down former Reading man Femi Azeez. We discuss the key moments of the match, player performances, the importance of getting this result, should Long start at centre-back, and more.
