Welcome to the display screen for the Sierra Remote Observatories (SRO) Virtual Astrophotographer. Most nights this award winning telescope at SRO will image selected deep sky objects and the data will be saved for our SRO Virtual Astrophotographer client members. Members and others can watch and study the observing session and then members can use the data to produce high quality images of these objects. These are judged monthly at SRO and the best SRO Astronomical Images are selected. This is an ideal way for those new to astrophotography to learn how data is collected and practice their skills in image processing. It is also a great option for more experienced astrophotographers who do not currently have a telescope or one in an area of excellent seeing.
