(6 Dec 2013) French flags flew at half mast throughout the country on Friday in a sign of respect to late South African President, Nelson Mandela.
The French Foreign Ministry's facade was dominated by a large portrait of Mandela hanging from the roof.
The French Parliament building and Elysee Palace, the official residence of President Francois Hollande, also flew their flags at half mast.
Mandela died on Thursday at the age of 95.
His funeral is due to be held on December 15 in his hometown of Qunu.
