Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Davos, Switzerland, for a meeting with Swiss President Alain Berset, ahead of the World Economic Forum 2018.

Amitabh Kant, CEO of India’s Policy Think-Tank, Niti Aayog said, "I think, more important is that the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) is coming here to tell a unique story and a remarkable story of India's growth along with very major structural reforms and with fiscal responsibility and the fact that India has opened up its economy in a very big way.

"At a point of time when countries across the world are closing their economy and they are becoming increasingly protectionist, India has opened up all its sectors for foreign direct investment."
