At the age of nineteen, Charlie Conrad suffers the loss of his mother, and is forced to postpone his college plans to take care of his brother Ben, an imaginative nine-year-old boy. Isolated from the normal life of a boy his age, Charlie is overwhelmed by the responsibility he must accept. It is then that he meets a charismatic young man named Jordan Rivers, and attraction immediately arises between them.
However, things become complicated with the return of Charlie's father, who had abandoned his family six years earlier due to his alcoholism. Claiming to have reformed, the father of the two boys tries to enter their lives, despite Charlie's distrust. At the same time, Charlie discovers that Jordan is also hiding a troubled past that will make him doubt their relationship. Caught in the middle, Charlie must make a decision that will affect his entire life.
