One of my all time favorite wavetable VSTs is Vital, AND there's an ultra powerful free version. It's particularly great if you're new to wavetable and just want to try it before sinking funds into a hardware synth.

In this video we'll go from the initial patch (nothing but a basic wave) and create a huge moody hybrid synth pad with some lead flavors.
