Three reasons not to get the River Indie. First, well you may not actually be able to buy one just yet. River is taking is slow and steady -- not a bad thing -- but that means it only has the one showroom in Bengaluru and that'll be the first city it will delivery bikes in. There is a plan to hit other cities but it doesn't look like there's more than 4-5 cities in the first year. Second, the quirky design - we've grown to like it - stands out. But designs that stand out also mean that some will like it and others will not. The Indie is pretty quirky and definitely striking to look at but the combination of the lines and the bright colours might not be to everyone's taste. Third, It's brand new. It's strange to think of that as a reason to not buy one but the electric two-wheeler market is immature and we've seen all kinds of issues. The Ola S1 Pro, for instance, still cannot run in Hyper mode for more than a few kilometres at a time. We're not expecting the Indie to have troubles but if you'd rather play it safe, waiting to see how it does in the real world is a safer choice to make.
