Imam Mahdi is the 12th and final Shia Imam, who is believed to be in occultation, a state of hiddenness or absence, since the 9th century. Shia Muslims believe that he will return one day to establish justice and peace in the world, and his return is eagerly awaited by believers.
Dua-e-Faraj is recited in various occasions, particularly in the month of Ramadan during the last ten nights, as well as in times of difficulty and hardship. The supplication is filled with powerful words and phrases seeking Allah's help and guidance in relieving the suffering of believers, and it is believed to have a profound effect on the hearts and minds of those who recite it with sincerity.
In addition to seeking relief from difficulties and problems, Dua-e-Faraj is also believed to be a means of connecting with Imam Mahdi and preparing oneself for his return. Shia Muslims recite the supplication with a sense of anticipation and hope for the establishment of justice and peace in the world.
