This 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix is located in our Louisville KY showroom. The Pontiac Grand Prix is a luxury-performance automobile that was produced by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1962 to 2008. The Grand Prix was 1st introduced as part of Pontiac's full-size model offering for the 1962 model year. For 1976 a new split vertical bar "waterfall" grille and quad rectangular headlights in front and revised taillight lenses out back highlighted the 1976 Grand Prix. The base Model J underwent a number of content changes to cut the base price by around $500 to be more competitive with other mid-sized personal luxury cars. Those changes for the "J" included a smaller 160 hp 350 cu in V8 as the base power plant and some downgrading of interior trim that included a new notchback bench seat made standard equipment. This particular 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix is consider a survivor car as it has never been restored, only maintained over the years. With only 67795 miles on the odometer, everything looks to be in good shape on this Grand Prix. Under the hood, still looks factory original and there is not the usual dirt or grime for a car of this time period. The 350 CID starts right up and the AC still works. The factory Yellow is still glossy and only needs some buffing to really bring out the shine. The partial Tan vinyl top is still in good condition. It shows a little wear, but has held well, considering it is almost 40 years old! The carpet is in great shape and will continue to look as long as it it maintained. That is really the secret to these “Survivor” cars! People have taken the time to give them the proper maintenance over the years. The tan interior is still nice with only showing signs of wear on the door straps.
