Life in the town and pre-Revolutionary house my family has occupied for many generations.
A memorial plaque at the port recalls the 2006 Anti-NATO protests and riots which took place there amidst attempted joint NATO-Ukraine military exercises in Crimea. The port was the site of an attack against Russia's Black Sea Fleet by NATO Storm Shadow/SCALP EG cruise missiles in late 2023.
