Laya is a well-known actress who has made a mark in the South Indian film industry with her stunning performances. With her striking looks and impeccable acting skills, Laya has captivated audiences and won critical acclaim for her roles in films across several languages. Laya began her career in Telugu cinema with the film "Swayamvaram" in 1999. She won two Nandi Awards for Best Actress in consecutive years for Manoharam (2000) and Preminchu (2001).
Born on October 21, 1981, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, Laya grew up in a family where her mother was a music teacher at Nirmala High School, Vijayawada, and her father was a doctor. She attended Nirmala High School and was a state-level Chess player during her school days. After moving to Hyderabad, Laya discovered her passion for classical dance and performed in more than 50 stage shows.
Laya holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Applications. In 2006, she tied the knot with Dr. Sri Ganesh Gorty and settled down in Los Angeles, California. The couple has two children - a daughter named Sloka and a son named Vachan.
