Help us fight to bring our kids home! As you may or may not be aware, there are hundreds of Ukrainian orphans who were in the process of being adopted after being hosted by American families. Some were just weeks away from coming home to their forever families. Now, because of the war, those kids are all stuck with no way to come to the U.S. to be with their families. At the moment, there does not appear to be a legal way to unite these families.
You can join a movement that was started by parents whose children are bound in red tape. Already, a group of 74 senators have signed a letter urging both the U.S. and Ukrainian governments to revisit this issue and create a legal way to reunite these kids with their families. At the very least, we are asking them to consider letting them come on a temporary basis until the war has ended. Once it is safe, they can go back and re-start the official adoption process if necessary. These kids deserve to be in the families who already know them, love them, and have been vetted through official home studies. For kids who are now coping with multiple traumas, the best place they can be is with the families who love them.
