My second visit to Manchester airport in as many days. After getting absolutely drenched the previous day catching close up arrivals on RWY05R, I decided I wasn't quite done yet. I went back the following day, (this day) to film some departures and although the weather started off dry. Surprise surprise, it gradually got worse and worse. Throughout this video you'll notice the visibility getting lower and the rain getting heavier throughout. By the end of the video there's lots of spray and surface water on the runway and by that point I was once again, soaked. So decided to call it a day after a few hours.
This was filmed one week after the collapse of Thomas Cook Airlines so there's quite a few special movements featured as part of "Operation Matterhorn" repatriating the Thomas Cook customers who were left abroad following the airlines collapse. As much flight info as I had has been edited on screen for your entertainment.

Look out for the A380's. Emirates A380 lined up for departure while the Malaysian A380 operating rescue flights for TCX arrives behind it. 1 in, 1 out for the super jumbos. Also check out the Avro BAE-146. Its a royal air force jet. Used usually for the Royal Family or government officials.
