Reputed as one of the most famous operas in the world, Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” features its renowned musical repertoire presented through Maestro Daniel Barenboim’s musical view on the classic play. Directed by Martin Kušej, this is one of the most significant contemporary opera events. Carmen is played by mezzo-soprano Marina Domashenko. Tenor Rolando Villazon was celebrated for his role as “A perfect José, sung as he hasn’t been sung in a long time...”(FAZ). The skillfully composed music injects a sensual mood that magnifies the performance’s dramatic allure, on stage at Staatsoper Berlin.
