Walk with me in the botanical garden of Eram Shiraz. This garden is one of the most beautiful and special gardens in Iran, located in Shiraz.
It doesn't matter where you are in the world and what you want to do, be sure to come to Shiraz at the end of April and until the end of May and enjoy the beautiful nature of Shiraz and especially this beautiful garden.
The history of Eram Garden goes back to about 900 years ago.
Hafez, the great poet of Shiraz, also mentioned this beautiful garden in his poems.
This garden has been in the hands of kings or local rulers from Aghar to the end of the Zandiya period.
After Zandiyeh, the Qashqai clan leaders made this garden their clan headquarters, and one of the khans of this clan named Jani Khan and his son built a mansion in it.
During the reign of Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar, Haj Nasir al-Mulk, who was one of the elders of Shiraz city, bought this garden from the heads of the Qashqai clan and built the present beautiful building in it.
After changing hands many times, this garden was finally handed over to Shiraz University in 1342 AH.
Since 1359 AH, this garden was transformed into a botanical garden by the efforts of Shiraz University, and efforts were made to collect and establish various plant species.
In 1387 AH, the agreement was made by turning this garden into a research center and applied scientific researches in the field of botany, horticultural science, plant medicine and other related sciences were started.
In 1390 AH, this garden was registered as a symbolic example of Iranian gardening art.
The special location of Eram Garden has provided conditions for keeping a wide variety of plants.
More than 450 species of plants have been identified in the garden and introduced by identification boards.
Due to the age of the garden, most of its area is dedicated to fruit trees such as pomegranates, oranges, persimmons, olives and walnuts.
The 200-year-old Saronaz trees of this garden attract the attention of visitors and are world famous.
Also, in Golestan Rose, more than 300 varieties of roses show in May, which are really spectacular.
