White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented Tuesday on a number of large drone sightings over the eastern portion of the United States including many in the state of New Jersey.
“We are closely tracking the activity and coordinating closely with relevant agencies including DHS (Department of Homeland Security) and the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) to investigate these incidents,” Jean-Pierre said.
The incidents have been reported since about mid-November in various locations across New Jersey. About 50 drones were reported coming from the ocean on Sunday into Asbury Park, NJ. There were also reports of a dozen drones following a Coast Guard boat.
The FBI has reportedly said that the source of the drones is unknown.
