Caxo - Punkies Vs. Los Dokkens :
Started Off I Think As A Cara De Mil Putazos Song, I Remember I Was Recording Drum Tracks In The Mid 90's For Someone Else's Project With Cesar Mejia I Can't Remember What It Was, All I know Is It Was A Slow, Calm, Soft , Minimal Type Song And When We Finished The Drum Tracks I Asked Him If We Could Lay Down Something Really Quick, Cesar Asked me If I Needed A Click Track? And I Was Like Nah Just Press Record Lol And I Just Muscled Thru It Really Quick And We Both Laughed Our Asses Off After Cause It Was Completely Different From Whatever It Was We Were Doing Right Before.
Thinking About It, It's Kind Of A Trip Cause I Had Never Rehearsed Punkies Vs. Los Dokkens, I Had Just Played It In My Head. Not That It's Rocket Science Or Anything Lol But I Love The Idea Of A Song Going From Living In Someone's Head To Just Barfing It Out At A Studio, Doesn't Get More Ponk Rok Than That Lol. What Started Off Really Spontaneous We Ended Up Dragging Along And Didn't Get Finished (Not Mixed Or Mastered) Till Many Years Later In The Late 90's.
The Song Is Supposed To Be Silly And Funny, Back in '91 My Family Drove Down To Baja Ca. And In A Small Town There Were Two Rival Gangs, One Was Punk And The Other Were Glam Rockers. Their Gang Graffiti Signs Were All Over The Walls, Each Of Them Crossing Off Each Others Gang Name In This Small Town So I Wrote A Silly Song Imagining The Characters And Their Drama.
Later Thinking About How Sad It Was That Their Rivalry And Escapism Was Rooted In An MTV Video Type Lens.
Warning Disclaimer : Theres A Lot Of Obvious Obscenity In This Song But There's One Part Where One Character Calls The Other A "Joto " Just To Put It Out There, I Do Not Condone Homophobia
Nor Support Anything Or Anyone That Is Against My Two Spirited Brothers And Sisters Or The LGBTQ Nation.
