So many growers already accept that trimming roots of astrophytum as a plus and based on my small experiment I will agree. With my growing style there wasn't an increase in growth rate however there was a higher survival rate compared to the untrimmed seedlings.
HOWEVER since I use 100% gravel I am unable to repot with the large root system with heavily damaging it since a hole will not hold shape like when using organic material.
