"Fortress" is the second single from the upcoming album of the Hungarian electronic music band, Paperdeer. This song was composed around an increasing emotional tension. Interpretable either as a topic of relationship issues, a scream against the current unsustainability of humanity, or the insignificant role of an individual in the global scope, both the music and the ambiguous lyrics written by the Hungarian poet Márton István Szabó were inspired by the feeling when you watch people making bad decisions over your head without having voice to influence them. The veteran Norwegian electronica band @RoyksoppMusic heavily shaped both the cover art and the aesthetics of the song. The photos for the artwork were shot by Marton Kis in Budapest, using an innovative technical setup to make the model Lidia Paseczki float over the bridge.
Besides writing the lyrics, Márton István Szabó also directed the music video for Fortress to visually enhance the content of his text. Böbe Szécsi Hungarian singer is the girl both running in the video and singing the song.
--- LYRICS: ---
We got to talk. Now, right now.
Our horses ran too far somehow.
I'm bursting out,
There's nowhere to hide
'Cause in my head I've seen
Our entire kingdom collapsing
I allow you - and now that costs a life
I would howl but I have no sound
By the ending term
All our lands will burn
See the fortress
Has started melting now
Ooh
I should shout but I have no sound
By the ending term
All our lands will burn
See the fortress
Has started melting now
Ooh
