The Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation is taking time to heal and grieve the deaths of 215 children whose remains were found in unmarked burial sites at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.
Members of the community hope the horrific discovery will be a catalyst for a nation-wide movement to search all 139 sites of former schools. The findings in B.C. are retraumatizing survivors and their families, and impacting Indigenous communities across the country.
