Queensland teachers are about to become the best-paid school educators in the nation after striking a historic agreement with the Palaszczuk government.
Teachers in the state will receive a three per cent cost of living bonus, meaning some could be earning up to almost $152,000 per year by 2024.
The pay rise could range from 11-20 per cent over the next three years and will be linked to inflation.
The Palaszczuk government's pay increases exceed Victoria’s two per cent and NSW’s three per cent rise.
However, this has sparked fears the “inflation bonus” will blow out the state’s public education sector wages bill from the current $8 billion a year to $9 billion by 2025.
