The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) sued attorney Chance Gordon for violating the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA) and Regulation O. Gordon offered home loan modification services for a flat fee, which the CFPB found to be deceptive. The court affirmed Gordon's violation of CFPA but vacated and remanded part of the monetary judgment. Gordon argued against the CFPB's authority, claiming Cordray's appointment was unconstitutional.
