Bechstein model V uprights, made up to about 1902, suffer from the tuning block or wrest plank drying out and not holding the tuning pins even when larger and longer ones replace the original ones. For this reason we don't sell this model unless the wrest plank has been replaced.

The model V was replaced in 1902 by model 10, which has a more robust wrestplank which doesn't suffer so much with central heating. It's plainer looking though, rosewood but less figured and usually without inlay. The tone is a little plainer too.

WARNING: GENERALLY AVIOD INLAID PIANOS IN THE UK:
Most inlaid pianos in the UK are straight strung and overdamped and best avioded or at least checked by a tuner before you decide to purchase.
