On the fifteenth day of the Lunar New Year is the Lantern Festival, marking the end of LNY festivities.
In Taiwan, the Lantern Festival is celebrated with a grand lantern display, hosted in a different city each year and attended by thousands.
With the feature attraction a giant lantern shaped like the current year’s Chinese zodiac animal.
The Lantern Festival commemorates the arrival of Spring and sees people come together to eat yuánxiāo, which symbolizes another year of growth and has a rounded shape representing fulfillment and luck.
