This is a vegetable called the Long Melon. The Long Melon is like a cucumber, except it is thinner and longer. The plant grows like the cucumber with similar leaves and so on. We grow Kakri (Long Melon) with the onset of summer, typically growing as seedlings from seeds and then transplanting to the final pots.
