Several years ago i got invited out to try my hand in videoing orca whales. the very first time I go I get a super pod. This is when all 3 pods[ families] come together some 90 + orca whales gather to feed on salmon. What they do is herd the salmon towards the tide line and this is where they feed. I think in this case the salmon were hiding under our boat and the orcas keep coming around . This all lasted in an hour or so.All of the video is from this one moment that I am told may happen a couple of time in one season. SUBER POD Enjoy
To all of you who viewed this video it humbles me that you can have this experience. One experience I did have I would like to share, I was picked to be a pool camera for news in Vancouver when one of the orcas was giving birthI at the aquarium and I was behind the viewing glass looking under her while she delivered . Seven hrs during the night it was her and I and 4 other orcas were in a separate holding tank, the music went on and on.I had just had a home birth experience just before this event took place so I am making whale sounds my self as the tears rolled dow my face.I don't have any words that could explain this experience only the orca brain understands .Now i felt birth and when I went out that first time to video orcas in the wild and this happens ,first i saw them in a distance and then they coming charging towards me like my grandchildren . I love you orcas. We know so little about their behaviour . These orcas are the Cannery in the Mine. Now oil shipments of TAR goes from 5 ships a month to 35 when the new oil line is competed. One mishap and a TAR spill in the Salish Sea will be floating around in the orcas favourite fishing area. for 100 yrs.Tides are amazingly strong and can you imagine getting a blob of tar in its breading hole good bye ORCAS.
