The University of Bristol Brass Band is a non-auditioned brass ensemble comprised of students at the university. UoBBB was started in October 2007 by Stephen Rockey, who funded the band for the first three years of its existence. In 2010, the then president of BUMS, Jonathan Godsall (now Dr) took the UoBBC under its wing, and it was at this point that the students took complete control. Since then, it has followed the same pattern, with the members of the band choosing its conductor through auditions along with the repertoire for the year.
UniBrass 2019 was hosted by Bangor University Brass Band. In 2020, the contest will be returning to Bangor University and will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
