Most RVs today are built with a converter but not all of them have an inverter. In a nutshell, your converter converts your 110 power from your wall outlet (shore power) to 12 volt power to keep your batteries charged and an inverter does the opposite. It takes your 12 volt power from the batteries and will use that to power your 110 AC appliances with some campers that have residential style refrigerators and other appliances.
If you’re new to RVing, terms like converter and inverter can definitely make your head spin, but once you know the difference and it's a breeze to know what to look for when experiencing electrical problems. Josh is here this #AskATechThursday to tell you all you need to know about the differences between your converter and inverter!
