Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains with a Diamond Pattern and D Links. Part number TH04115240. These Konig self-tensioning snow tire chains are for the snow driving enthusiasts. They feature a diamond pattern, rather than a ladder pattern, so they're going to provide you with more tire coverage, which means more traction. They also have D shaped links, which are going to give you the bite you need. Since they're D shaped, they're going to wear evenly than chains that have a twisted design, which means they're going to last longer. It has a low profile design, which means it's going to work out great for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance.
The inner chain is coated, so should it come in contact with your wheels, it won't harm or scratch them. Most chains recommend that you use a rubber adjuster or an additional part to help keep them tight and snug around the tire. These chains feature an integrated tensioner so you don't need to pick up anything separate. The chains are constructed out of a manganese nickel alloy so they're going to be durable and corrosion resistant. It's designed to work with wheel sizes between 15 and 19 inches. See etrailer.com for your specific tire size.
These chains have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour and they come in a quantity of two. Also is included is a nice storage case, which doubles as a mat so you can stow them when not in use.The built-in pedal makes installing the chains a breeze. You don't have to get behind the tire. Let's go ahead and show you how we did that. We're going to be putting these tire chains on the front tires of our Ford Escape because it is mostly driven by the front axle.
I've already gone ahead and removed my chains from the included bag. We want to make sure there's no kinks, twists, or any tangles in them. It should look just like this. Now before we get these installed, we want to make sure that they're in the unlocked position. To do so, we can pull up on the red tab here until it clicks, just like that. Then we can push in on the two tabs on either side here, until they click.
Now we're ready to install them. Now we can simply just pick it up by the cable on the backside and straddle them over the tire. We want to make sure that that cable goes all around to the backside. Do one side at a time to make it a little bit easier. Once our chains are in place, this is where it gets easy. We'll fold our step down and we'll step on it until it clicks in place. Now we're done. We can go ahead and repeat the same process for the tire on the opposite side. Not only are they easy to install, but they're also easy to remove. To do so we'll simply pull out on the red tab here until it clicks. Then we'll come down here to the two red tabs and squeeze them together until it releases. From there the tension is released and then we can just take them off. That's going to complete our look at the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains with a Diamond Pattern and D Links. Part number TH04115240.
