Here's the 2 minute video of the whale shark that we met today (there's a 14 minute version for those that want to really geek out).... it swam around us for over 30 minutes! Apparently whale sharks like all the bubbles that scuba divers produce. I imagine it helps bring food upward as they live on consuming large quantities of plankton, crustaceans and other small organisms.
You can see clearly when the whale shark is swimming upwards how it is pushing large quantities of water through itself....
This is actually a pretty young and small whale shark. Adults can be roughly 3-4 times as large.
And so many little fish swimming with it! Anyone know what the small school of 5 or 6 medium size fish are?
