A Texas judge on Friday halted the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of mifepristone, one of two drugs widely used for medication abortions here in the U.S. U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk has given the government seven days to appeal.
Unlike Plan B and other morning-after pills that prevent pregnancy, the abortion pill Mifepristone terminates an existing pregnancy. Here's more on what you should know about the two pills.
