Darth Nihilus is arguably the most powerful Sith in all of existence. However, he started out as a simple human. Some say he was originally a Jedi. Others say he was a simple farmer. Regardless, the activation of the mass shadow generator superweapon by Revan transformed him into a wound in this force. This left him with an insatiable desire to drain the life forces of others which eventually corrupted him into a Sith. However, the intense use of this dark side power eventually completely corrupted his body. Thus, Nihilus tethered his spirit to his mask and robes meaning there truly was nothing but dark energy behind those void-like eyes.
