When we decided to create the inaugural vintage of the DAOU Discovery Rosé, we wanted to stick to the most traditional way of making the wine. Brothers Georges & Daniel Daou grew up in the south of France where they got to experience some of the best rosé's in the world. They didn't want to create a rosé out of saigneé of Syrah or Zinfandel, but instead chose to use 95% Grenache Noir and 5% Sauvignon Blanc , or Methode Provencal.
"We look for the purest expression of Provence rosé that reflect the traditional flavors you find like peach, strawberry, papaya, and cherry. Pairs well with grilled octopus, sliced potatoes with rosemary and olive oil which is my favorite way to enjoy this rosé!" - Daniel Daou, Winemaker/Co-Proprietor
