Prosecco DOC is a white, Italian sparkling wine made with at least 85% Glera grapes, and comes in four levels, from the driest to the sweetest: Brut, Extra Dry, Dry and Demi-Sec. It is very versatile; it can be consumed on its own or incorporated into cocktails. Real Italian Prosecco bottles are labelled with the acronyms DOC and DOCG, which mean: Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) and Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG). These certifications are a guarantee of quality and authenticity.

Venice, also known as the “City of Canals,” “The Floating City,” and “Serenissima,” is arguably one of Italy’s most picturesque cities. It boasts 417 bridges, of which 72 are private. There are approximately 350 gondolas that transport tourists across 177 canals. One of the main touristic attractions is the San Marco bell tower, or campanile, which was originally built in the 12th century but collapsed in 1902. It was rebuilt exactly like the original, 98.6 meters tall, making it the fifth tallest bell tower in Italy.
Few cities are more intimately associated with a drink than Venice is with Prosecco DOC. Produced mainly in the Veneto region, of which Venice is the capital, it is sipped in every backstreet bacaro and plush hotel bar across town, whatever the hour. Furthermore, it provides the fizz in a Bellini, the city's signature drink, and accompanies the Spritz, one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in northern Italy.
