Learning to trade on Think or Swim using a simulated account?
If you have a simulated account at TD Ameritrade and want real time data there's a way to do it in less than 5 minutes. If you're trading paper money on the ThinkorSwim Platform while you're testing strategies, it's likely you're using delayed data.
In this 3 minute video Nick Bentley, head trader at Trading Price, shows students how to activate live data on the Think or Swim simulated account.
In the upper left corner of the ToS platform, if it says "delayed data" the price on active trader and the chart may not be lining up. This makes it difficult to execute trading strategies and learn. It's critical to practice using real time data on your ThinkorSwim sim account
