Multiply two binomials when a=1 (no number coefficient in front of the variable): start the the variable squared, then add the two numbers for the middle term, last, multiply the two numbers.
Square a Binomial: square the first term, then multiply the two terms and double. Finally, square the last term.
Difference of Squares pattern: square the first term minus square the last term. (no middle term)
