The all-new Ford Escape is a larger compact utility with room for 5=passengers over 2-rows of seats. The all-new Ford Escape is sold as a gasoline model, a hybrid and future plug-in hybrid model. This new compact sport utility, or compact SUV has a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged, or EcoBoost engine with 180hp. The larger gasoline engine is a 2.0L turbocharged or EcoBoost engine with 250hp. The Hybrid version of the Ford Escape compact SUV is a 2.5L gasoline engine and two electric motors putting out 189hp. There are no figures yet for the plug-in hybrid version of the Ford Escape compact utility. The interior of this new Ford Escape is more upscale than the past model with either a 4.2-inch centre screen or optional 8-inch Ford Sync system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Ford Escape small SUV is also available with a 12.3-inch digital screen in the increment cluster. Sold as a front wheel drive or all wheel drive Ford Escape in Canada, the Ford Escape Hybrid will also be available as FWD or AWD. The Ford Escape was one of the first compact utility vehicles sold in canada and for many years was the best selling model. Over th past few years other compact SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid, along with the Honda VR-V have taken top spot away from the Ford Escape.
