Widespread rain showers will likely spread in after sunset and really ramp up through the late evening. With the sunsetting, the atmosphere will continue to cool and give way to a bust of wet snow after midnight.
Pavement temperatures are expected to be above freezing through Thursday morning. Slush could accumulate on bridges and overpasses. The main band of snow will south of the metro where we could see a coating to 1" of snowfall. Higher elevation could see 1-2" in spots. A brief round of lake showers through Thanksgiving morning will help melt any accumulations. If you you do have plans to travel locally the late-morning into the afternoon looks better.
