This vid is dedicated to my sister, who helped with the money I needed to get this thing. You're awesome, sis! :-)
For the dramatically impatient, skip forward to 20:00. That was my last flight and by far the best. I was by then experimenting with performance, pushing her pretty hard.
For the rest of you:
My new EasyStar Arrived in hilariously timely fashion on 1-10-11 so that I was ready to roll for a maiden flight on 1-1-11, woo-ha! After I got past being nervous, I realized something: This plane is FUN! It's not only very well behaved, but with some tweaks and a little upgrading, it's fast and very responsive. Generally speaking, it's far more of a beginner plane than my Skyfun was for me, lol, go figure.
Specs are presently:
EasyStar ARF Kit Plane
Turnigy 2700kv Motor HXTBS-2835C-2700/5221 (Heatsinked Version)
HobbyWing Pentium 40A ESC
2x HXT900 Servos
SKY701 Receiver From Stock Skyfun
Turnigy 2200mAH 3S LiPo
If the CG is right and the throttle kept low-ish, the plane is still very beginner and easily controlled. If you hit the throttle to max, it bobs a bit but it's quick and still very responsive... It can pull out of a dive so hard and fast I wondered why the wings stayed put, lol. I am guessing only, but I figure she's doing 60 - 70MPH in level flight at max throttle, not too much and not too little. This is a VERY fun plane, love it! :-)
Also, my apologies for the plane being lost in the glare of the sky at times... It was an ugly, gray day and I may have overdone the brightness and contrast a bit...
