Taxi Booking for your trip
Do check and book your Taxi for the entire trip from the local Taxi Service Providers if are planning to come to Srinagar by Flight. Try to contact a few provider to get a quote and then you can decide which service to proceed with.

Few necessary things to carry during your trip
Hot Water Flask, Kettle, Hot Water bag, Steam Inhaler, Thermal Wears, Gloves, Woollen Caps, Woollen clothing.

Srinagar to Gulmarg by road
The road trip from Srinagar Airport to Gulmarg town is approximately around 80 to 90 minutes.

Shopping
Dry fruits, Almonds, Walnuts are very famous in outlets in Tangmarg and would suggest you could buy them on your way back from Gulmarg to Srinagar.

Hotels & Resorts in Gulmarg
It is best to book for your stay before your reach Gulmarg especially during the Winters Seasons as most Hotels will be fully booked and you may have to book else where in Tangmarg which is a 30 minutes drive if you do not have a confirmed reservation. Most of Hotels & Resorts in Gulmarg is just a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Snow Activities area and Gondola Phase 1 Entrance.

Local Food and Restaurants at Gulmarg
There are a number of small restaurants in Gulmarg close to the Market. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options are available.

Winter Activities
SKIING &SNOWBOARDING. Gulmarg is the ultimate skiing resort for all levels of skiers, with runs ranging from gentle beginner slopes to the massive (2 km+) ski run accessible by the Gondola.
ICE-SKATING. An ice-skating rink has been recently developed in Gulmarg for enthusiasts.
HELI-SKIING.

It is best to request for a discount for any Sledge and Pony rides in Gulmarg.

The scenic views of mountains and valley during the cable car ride are also unforgettable and unmatched. The gondola can ferry 6 people at a time and 600 people per hour.

Gondola Cable Car Riding Levels
The cable car ride takes place in two levels/stages.

Phase I: from the Gulmarg resort to Kongdori Station (2600 m) in the bowl-shaped Kongdori Valley which takes 9 minutes to reach Phase II: from Kongdori Station to Kongdori Mountain (3747 m), the shoulder of Apharwat Peak which takes 12 minutes. (Phase 2 will be open only if the weather conditions are favourable. During snowfall mostly the Phase 2 Gondola is closed. The Tickets for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 are available at the Gondola Entrance and prices are fixed.

Summer vs Winter in Gulmarg
Different seasons, different scenes. If you are fond of snowfall, skiing etc, winter season is fine. Greenery, flowers, the waters, trekking can be enjoyed in summer months. All the places are open that time. The only big reason for visiting in winters is snow. I would recommend going in winter and then back in summer! it will feel like a different place!
